Indoor Soccer - An Alternative Arena for Soccer

Indoor football is becoming a popular sport in the United States and other countries. It is suitable for indoor use with artificial floors with smaller dimensions compared to football stadiums. The hockey arena, slide and basketball court are used as the venue for this indoor game.

Indoor soccer facility plans adapt to the standard rules with several changes depending on the location or structure of indoor play. Most football stadiums are oval or rectangular. Because of the overall size of the arena that is smaller than a normal soccer field, the goals are also smaller, as are the penalty areas.

The indoor play duration consists of 1 hour of play time that is divided into four quarters i.e. 15 minutes per quarter. In the event of a draw, an additional 15 minutes will be given until the team scores a goal to break the tie.

The game is played with a total of six players per team. One of them is the goalkeeper. In this game, the ball can hit the wall without penalty. However, if the ball hits the ceiling, the game stops and the opposing team makes last contact with the ball and receives a prize or a free kick.

With the popularity of indoor games, many high schools, universities, and colleges have adapted the sport on their own campuses. It allows students to play and enjoy sports even without using a standard football stadium.
